1. The sealing of the bushing top connection cap is poor
When the sealing of the connection cap is not good, moisture enters the winding insulation along the lead wire, causing a breakdown accident. The main reasons for the poor sealing of the bushing end are unreasonable structure and incorrect installation of the rubber pad.
2. Dampness during maintenance
When the transformer cover is hung for maintenance, the body is exposed to the atmosphere. When the relative humidity of the air is high, the insulation will absorb moisture from the air. This process starts from the surface insulation. The higher the relative humidity and the longer the time, the deeper the water penetration.
3. The brass tube of the cooler breaks
According to regulations, the cooler should be tested for leakage before installation to detect the cracking defects of the cooler. Otherwise, it may cause insulation breakdown accidents. For example: a 150MVA, l10kV power transformer, during operation, the light and heavy gas protection tripped, and the explosion-proof shell sprayed oil. After the cover was checked, 24 segments of the lower part of the A-phase high-voltage winding were burned, there were 4 short circuits, and two holes of 100mm were melted. The reason was that the cooler copper tube broke and water entered the transformer.
The main distribution device was damped by water, which greatly damaged the electrical and physical and chemical functions of the insulating medium. The presence of moisture will damage the insulation strength of the oil, and it will also corrode metals such as copper and iron. Therefore, when the transformer is flooded, it must be handled in time, so we must pay attention when using the transformer. Similarly, when purchasing a transformer, you can't just look at the price, quality is the most important.
