Product Description

Medium Voltage Extruded Layer Aluminum Power Cable is commonly used in urban underground power grids, power station outgoing lines, internal power supply for industrial and mining enterprises, and underwater power transmission lines across rivers and seas. The cable can be laid underground, in the air, on cable trays, etc. The voltage rating of extruded insulated aluminum power cable ranges from 6kV to 35kV.

Execution Standards

  1. GB/T 31840.2-2015 Aluminum-core extruded insulated power cables with a rated voltage of 1kV (Um=1.2kV) to 35kV (Um=40.5kV) - Part 2: Cables with a rated voltage of 6kV (Um=7.2kV) to 30kV (Um=36kV)
  2. GB/T 31840.3-2008 Aluminum-core extruded insulated power cables with a rated voltage of 1kV (Um=1.2kV) to 35kV (Um=40.5kV) - Part 3: Cables with a rated voltage of 35kV (Um=40.5kV)
  3. GB/T 19666-2005 General rules for flame-retardant and fire-resistant cables (applicable only to flame-retardant and fire-resistant cables)

Product Features

1. Usage Conditions:

◎ Cable installation temperature: ≥0℃

◎ Maximum allowable continuous operating temperature of cable conductors:

■ PVC insulation: 70℃

■ XLPE insulation: 90℃

◎ Maximum operating temperature during a short circuit (up to 5 seconds):

■ XLPE insulation: 250℃

■ PVC insulation:

■ Conductor cross-sectional area ≤300mm²: 160℃

■ Conductor cross-sectional area >300mm²: 140℃

■ Single-core with armor: 15D

■ Three-core without armor: 15D

■ Three-core with armor: 12D

■ Note: D is the actual outer diameter of the cable.

2. Structural Requirements:

◎ The basic structure of 6-35kV aluminum alloy core extruded insulated power cables consists of three parts: conductor, insulation layer, and protective layer.

⑴ Conductor: The conductor is twisted from aluminum alloy wires, meeting the requirements of the GB/T 3956-2008 standard. The conductor is the conductive part of the power cable, used to transmit electrical energy.

⑵ Insulation: The insulation is extruded from PVC or XLPE. It electrically isolates the core from the ground and between different phase cores, ensuring the transmission of electrical energy.

⑶ Outer Sheath: The outer sheath is made of PE or PVC, and can also be provided with flame-retardant, anti-termite, low-smoke, low-halogen flame-retardant, or low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant materials as per customer requirements. The outer sheath protects the power cable from external impurities and moisture intrusion, and prevents direct damage from external forces.
